Writing out my training schedule for this week and I’m thinking I might just do the same thing I did on the weekend for my long run. A short loop repeated several times. It’s a great mental workout and there’s no need to check where I’m at. I just run the loop the amount of times I need to.
I used to be a member at a local gym that has an indoor track that’s 150m. That’s insanely tiny. I used to run long runs there when the weather out was too ridiculous or dangerous to run (i.e. crazy snowstorms with nothing plowed or crazy heatwave). I’d run around for hours. It was a serious mental workout. It’s been a while since I ran there because I decided to stop my membership since it started to get too crowded for me.
For now, small loops outside work just as well and it’s a lot nicer to run outdoors!
